Best settings for PSX emulation (Batocera 35) on Windows 11

Hi,

Apologies in advance but I’m a total noob when it comes to Batocera having only just set it up on a PC. (Ignore the Win 11 in the subject as I now realise it is Linux and not Windows…)

I’ve set up PSX emulation but the graphics are very blocky. I’ve seen a video on YT relating to an earlier version of Batocera on how to configure it so the graphics are a lot smoother, but the menus on v35 aren’t the same so I’m getting somewhat lost.

Could anyone please share what the best settings are to get the most out of PSX emulation in terms of the best visuals possible? I would be forever grateful!

Satchnz Go to PSX menu, press Select, Advanced System Options. You’ll see a massive list of options. From there set the following:
Emulator: libretro: Swanstation (this is personal preference, but this is what options appear for this emulator)
Use software rendering: AUTO
Rendering Resolution: 6x (1920×1440)
Widescreen Hack (Glitchy): On
Anti-aliasing (MSAA/SSAA): 2x SSAA

You can also try turning on PGXP or whatever it’s called to fix the polygon jaggies but I’ve found it creates more problems than it fixes (holes in the ground, black blotches in textures, etc.)
