Emulator Control Remapping Override

Hello all,

I’m new to Batocera and I have been setting up an Arcade with Batocera V35. Everything is great. But, when in comes to some systems I would like to customize the controllers. In some Emulators like Redream. Buttons don’t work at all. If I go to the Redream menu I can update the controller mappings and get it to work but as soon as I exit the game the changes I made are gone. Similar things happens with other systems.

Is there a way to fix this? Searching in this forum I found a post from 2 years ago from someone with a similar issue and the answer was that this is how Batocera works… is that still the case?

For some context my arcade is a 2 playes with 8 action buttons each + hot key button.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

“the answer was that this is how Batocera works… is that still the case?” Sort of. It’s meant to work in the way that Batocera handles the controller configuration for each emulator on your behalf. That is, you don’t have to spend half your life constantly updating controller mappings. But obviously in this case it’s bugged out… I would recommend reporting the issue to the Batocera github, demonstrating that yes, you can map it, but it’s just Batocera which is failing to do so.

It could also be that your “2 player” controller is actually only appearing as a single player to Batocera. How many controller icons do you see in the upper corner of the main menu?
