V35 splash screen doesn't work

Hi guys,

I’m using V35 on X64 PC with a GeForce GTX 1070. Since V33, splashes screens don’t work. But it worked in older versions… What’s happening? Could someone help me?

Vini77 For images, it’s currently broken. Stick to using video files.

Otherwise, use the “boot logo” technique where you replace the file in the boot partition itself. https://wiki.batocera.org/splash_boot#changing_the_boot_splash

I have tested a 4K png file in /userdata/splash/ folder and works fine, but only appears for a few seconds and doesn’t replace the starting batocera logo

Thanks but it’s currently videos splashes that don’t work… I’ve heard about a Nvidia driver issue?

Vini77 Weird, considering that the boot splash doesn’t even have graphics drivers online when it plays (it’s all done in software mode on the CPU, that’s why you get laggy videos sometimes because there’s no hardware acceleration).

If the video splash is indeed not working, then you should make an issue report about it on the Github. It works for me on my machine though, so you’ll need to do some thorough investigation (possibly rolling back the version to double check its behaviour on the hardware) to not be met with scrutiny.

Vini77 Specify your question. Ordinary splash videos are simply taken from the splash folder, irrelevant of name. Your question is probably already answered in https://wiki.batocera.org/splash_boot so give that a read.
