No PS1 games work for me

Hey everyone. I’m new to the retro gaming world. I may sound stupid when it comes to terms used here and I probably won’t fully understand you at first but I’m really trying to get back into gaming. I have a mini pc that I installed Batocera on and have been able to load plenty of Atari games and such, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why my PS1 games won’t load. Nor sure if I’m missing bios for something or if my roms are not correct. My rom folder is empty when I install the roms but when I update games nothing shows up. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Which file extension do your ps1 roms have? Did you had a look into the txt-file within the rom-folder? There are the supported rom-formats mentioned.
And you should definitely check out the wiki as well. There is a lot of useful information.

Most of the roms I found end with .7z. The roms folder is completely empty. There is no txt-file in the roms folder.

There is no folder to unzip from. When I try to unzip them it doesn’t give me the option to.

With batocera, 7z can’t usually decompress. (It seems possible if you modify it, but I don’t know and it’s not supported.) Just put the prepared rom file compatible with batocera in the rom folder.

Is there “_info.txt” in the psx folder inside the roms folder?

This well help a lot but most of the sites I go to all have the same type of files extensions like the .7z. Not sure where else to look

Just download it on another pc, unzip it and put it in batocera. If you don’t have another pc, boot another linux with usb, download, unzip, and put it in batocera

(More than this is beyond the support range of batocera, so please investigate by yourself)
