Hey there, fellow quake addict; I had this same problem and did some digging, and found where to fix it!
In a nutshell, tyrquake, the engine running the game is part of retroarch, and is loaded as a core. So in order to make the change you’ll need to-do the following..
- From emulationstation, launch quake (doesn’t matter what version as long as it’s tyrquake
- Once launched, press your
hotkey + south button (b snes)
, this will let you get to the retroarch menu with the tyrquake core already loaded.
- Go down to
options
then Invert Y axis
, back on the previous screen you can resume playing.
- Once this is set, it seems to save after re-launch; though you might need to manually save the per-core config if it doesn’t retain the setting.
Cheers! Now go blow some sh*t up!
