Boot Error

Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to post this.

I select the run update inside Batocera yesterday and afterwards said it needed a reboot to complete the update. I did so and it now just comes up with a “Boot error” when trying to start. I have a backup Batocera drive I am using now, but how do I get the old one working again?

You could just copy the “old” boot/batocera file to the old drive.

For anyone that runs into this in the future – copying over the files from a “good” Batocera drive into the Windows accessible boot partition did not fix the problem. It still remains with a “Boot error”. The reason I had a full backup is because I have twice had Batocera completely die and both times now are due to software updates and neither time was it recoverable. I hate to type it but I recommend not updating Batocera or, if you must, make certain you have a fully functioning backup on another hard drive first. jp
