Running save overlay causes XU4 to hang on boot and changing timezone fails

Hey,

Firstly, Batocera.linux has become quite well developed over the last year, thanks for all the hard work!

I'm very close to getting everything I'd like set up, but a few small issues remain. The biggest is that when I run /recalbox/scripts/recalbox-save-overlay.sh

it says in the terminal that the action completed successfully, although when I reboot, the system fails to load properly. I see a blank screen that never gets to the batocera splash screen. I'm trying to set a static IP address in the command line by modifying connman with commands available here: https://www.toradex.com/community/questions/891/how-can-i-chance-dns-configuration-and-set-static.html

I set the static IP address and nameservers successfully, I then run the above save-overlay script and when I reboot, I end up with a broken system. Am I forgetting a step? Can someone give me some advice about how to make these kinds of changes persistent? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One more thing: Has anyone had any luck changing the system time in /Batocera/share/system/recalbox.conf? I can't get this working to save my life! When I modify the time zone and run "date" in the terminal, it never changes from GMT.

for the ip, normally, i've added a link from connman config to a file on /share/recalbox so that you don't need to modify the system. i cannot check here, but somewere in /var/lib/connaman, there is a broken link by default while the file doesn't exist by default.
note that saveoverlay doesn't save 100% of the files :
- files in /share/recalbox are already on a separate partition and thus are saved without this command
- files mounted over /, like /tmp, /var are not saved too while on a tmpfs only, and not part of the firmware.

for the timezone, it was broken at a give time due to the read only firmware. i thought it would be fixed, but i've never check it. it's something i've to fix then.
