Every time I reboot, Batocera 5.25 resets to default.

I am booting to batocera 5.25 for Intel Atom processiors on an HP Mini 210, with 1GB of RAM. Before, I could load games onto batocera and when I would reset batocera the games would stay on the usb drive. I’ve tried rebooting the system a couple of times, but every time, I lose my ROMS and all the settings i’ve set up are reverted to the defaults. Is there any way to fix this?

What does System Settings, Information say about the Disk Usage?
If everything resets to default after reboot, this means, that there is something wrong with the share-partition of your drive (it is not created successfully).
This happens for example, if you interrupt the first time you boot up batocera, after you flashed the batocera image onto the drive. Because on the initial boot of batocera, the share partition will be created and extended.
Another cause could be a faulty drive.
What kind of drive do you use to boot up batocera? Internal Hard Drive, external usb drive?

joinski I used an external USB drive. 16 Gigabytes.

joinski I’m going to try and flash another usb drive of batocera 5.25 to see if it has the same issue. But it’s had this issue across multiple usb drives I’ve booted off of.

joinski I just flashed another image to a usb drive and it seems to be working fine. Interesting!

usually, the “ I lose my ROMS and all the settings i’ve set up are reverted ” is the symptom of the drive failing to mount the userdata partition. Batocera, unlike other OSes that may panic in this situation, will still boot, but entirely in RAM. So, any changes will of course be lost on power down.

This should be made more obvious when this happens IMO.
