Not booting

Hi everyone,

First of all sorry for.my bad English ...

So here is my problem.
I've made a bootable USB. It's working perfectly on all computers friends (even laptops) But not on mine ....
I've a laptop: Acer aspire 7720 - 64bit (released in 2008)
I'm able to boot on other USB but not on batocera .... (I've tried the x64 and x86 version)

When booting on my laptop I've the message telling me that "it's missing an operating system"

I've burned with Etcher and also tried with Rufus ...

Who can help me ?

Could it be because you have secure boot turned on your PC?

I've not secure boot. I'm able to boot on an USB with Ubuntu for exemple.

I've check in the advance option when reboot in Windows 10 and I've not the option. " UEFI firmware settings" ... So that's not that the problem ... 🙁

Did you try formatting in fat32 and ntfs?

It is possible that you not only have to disable "secure boot" - also somewhere extra for usb-sticks.
Go through every menu in the BIOS again.

There is nothing in the bios (made in 2008)

I can boot on the USB (to install Windows or Linux) but not batocera ...

with secureboot on, Ubuntu can start. not batocera. Ubuntu paid to get that working.
i've no idea. these is probably an option in your bios.

nadenislamarre I'm 100% sure that I've not secure boot ON.
I've check every single option in the bios and there is nothing 🙁

Hello, I have the same problem with thejim. I have a notebook a little old, the screen is broken. I connected to a TV through the VGA connection, but the BIOS Setup image appears cropped, making it impossible to take satisfactory pictures.

There are few configuration options available. I've tried them all, without success.

I will try to describe the BIOS options:

MENU INFO:

BOOT MENU:
LAN REMOTE BOOT: DISABLED OR ENABLED
BOOT DEVICE PRIORITY
