pcsx2 on batocera sux

Hello guys i have a problem. cant start ps2 games , the emulator will not work . even in apps if i click on the emulator it won’t start at all.

In batocera plus it all works great and it opens just fine in apps ( probably a less shitty version of pcx2)

hardware is the same for bat 35 and bat plus , phenom x6 8 gb ram rx 570 8 gb.

My question is …..why ?

shouldnt bat 35 have a newer version of pcsx2 ?

and is it possible to manually change version of the emulator ?

I don’t think it supports “avx2” “sse4.1” as required by pcsx2 1.7. (similar question has been asked in the past)
An old batocera (eg 29) with pcsx2 1.6 may work.

it does the question is : can i change the version of pcsx2 that come with batocera with an older version ?

in my opinion this is something very retarded , cos the point of batocera is to reuse old harware instead of throwing it away …………if i have to change the cpu ……i’ll also have to change mobo and ram and at that point i wont be worth it anymore.

Emulators cannot be changed individually. That’s why I recommended the old version of batocera

i tried 34 , and 33 and still doesnt work so if i have to go back further it will make no sense since i ll lose a lot of platforms.

i’ll switch over coinops , everything works fine there

If you want to use old software, it’s possible to keep using the older builds. That’s typically what those pirated images do anyway.

If you’re frustrated at PCSX2 in particular increasing their minimum requirements, you probably want to bring it up with them. There isn’t much Batocera can do in regards to that.

I’m running batocera 35 and get horrible ps2 emulation with standard emustation. It’s throttled and doesn’t run well. I fixed this by running pcsx2 config from the app section when pressing F1. I boot the games right from there. Im using midgrade PC and ps2 emulation runs really well. I disable vsync and can run games at 1080p.

I get 60fps on most ps2 games running them as above. Not sure why the default emustation can’t do the same.

what do you mean with standard/default emustation?
what are the specs of your midgrade PC?
