Cannot get sleep working on Aya Neo 2021 Edition

I recently installed Batocera as my primary OS on my Aya Neo 2021. I have attempted to follow multiple guides from this forum. I have modified batocera.conf to set the power button to sleep; I created the multimedia_keys file and set the power key to pm-suspend; I modified the powerbtn events file to pm-suspend. However, when I tap the power button and then attempt to wake up the device, it turns on but is frozen. It will usually stay frozen for 20 seconds, and then either flick or turn off entirely. What can I do?

Edit: Okay, suddenly pm-suspend has stopped crashing, but it still freezes my Aya Neo for roughly 10-15 seconds before I can input anything. Also, when I wake from sleep, my wifi is kicked.

Edit 2: Okay now I have noticed that if I leave the device asleep for too long, it will not turn back on although the fans spin and the Aya Neo vibration controls work. I have to force turn it off.

The suspend function in linux (not exclusive to Batocera, in general) is not quite so functional. Use it at your own risk. If you encounter any issues, the only thing you can realistically do is report them to the Github and then just avoid using it. Batocera boots up in under 30 seconds anyway so for most people it’s not that big a deal.
