User Data partition not resizing on first boot

I’ve downloaded the latest official Batocera release and put it on a 256GB flash drive.

When it boots, it doesn’t expand the partition and I don’t see the blue screen.

Instead, it just boots to Batocera and shows 12 games.

Under Information, it doesn’t show the drive as a EXT4 drive and instead is just blank.

The things I’ve tried so far are as follows:

Reflashed a total of 3 times and verifying it flashed correctly each time with Balena Etcher.
Tried on a different PC
Made sure Secure Boot is off
CSM is disabled
Took the # off of autoresize=true

Nothing I’ve tried works.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Can you try with another drive?
And you are using the x86_64 version?

Yes, I’ve tried with another drive now. A 1TB SSD with the same results.

Yes, I’m using the x64 version.

Same results. :(

Could you describe step by step how you flashed/installed batocera?
So for example:

Download Batocera Version 35 for x86_64 from official homepage
Plug in USB flash drive into PC
Open Balena Etcher/Raspberry Pi Imager and select the downloaded Batocera image and the USB flash drive and flash it (flash completed successfully)
Plug the USB flash drive into PC (if it is another machine) and boot from it.

I would recommend to use diskpart and clean the USB flash drive, before flashing batocera on it and to use Raspberry Pi Imager instead of Balena Etcher (but that’s a personal preference)
