Dolphin Frustrations

So I have a couple of generic Bluetooth controllers that pair and work great with every other emulator other than Dolphin. I have configured each Dolphin with a hot key as Select. I have also dropped the [Controls] config into the .ini file for each game. Also added the hot key in options in Dolphin.

So this is what happens….start a game, controls work as they should for game play, but I cannot exit the game with the hot key/start combination. Even have a wireless keyboard for ALT + F4 to exit the game and now this doesn’t work either.

I have only a handful of Gamecube games and would love to play them, but without an exit (unlike every other emulator) I’m not sure it’s worth it.

What am I missing?

I’ll try just about anything at this point…..

You should not do that. Instead you should just do the Button Mapping within Batocera ES (Controller & Bluetooth Settings, Controller Mapping). Then within the game the combo Hotkey + Start should work to close the emulator and go back to ES.

Well I went ahead and started fresh with dolphin and got rid of everything I had put in there, but now the controller doesn’t work with the game and the hot key/start exit to ES doesn’t do a thing…..

Okay….15 minute later update….switched to the liberto-dolphin emulator and everything works

So one last question someone might be able to help with or direct me to an answer…custom controller mapping for specifically Game Cube? Playing Mario Sunshine and holding down an R3 button to shoot water is a little annoying.
