Play encrypted streams with python

I use a kodi plugin that plays encrypted streams via python.
Can the following python packages be added to the build:
setuptools
pyopenssl
pycryptodome

I see that it should be possible to put python packages into ~/.local/lib/python2.7/site-packages.
Just have to cross compile them for the RPi3.

The plugin works on Raspbian with kodi v17.6 without any python addons. Don't bother adding more to the build for this. The upgrade path will get me there.

So, when can we get kodi v17.6? :-P

i may upgrade soon, but not before 2018 ; already several tasks to do.

Kodi v17.6 is still quite new, but it should be a stable place to stay while v18 settles down (June/July?). Kodi v18 includes native retrogaming. Have you tried it in the unstable builds?

Do you plan to keep emulationstation in the image once v18 is stable?

yes. i've not tried kodi18, but some kodi 15 plugins for retrogaming.
native retrogaming doesn't mean that retrogaming will work out of the box.
my aim is to have a smooth, userfriendly, configurationless distribution.
let give us time to kodi18 and test it before replacing it but i've doubts.

I have not tried the plugins recently, but they were pretty bad, the best one was Rom Collection Browser, and I threw it away because I had to keep rebuilding the ROM database (I hate SQL!)

In my experience new features on kodi are extremely unstable. It takes a while, but it eventually smooths out. I expect the retrogaming in v18 will probably be OK 1 year from now - Dec 2018.
