Green screen on Batocera on Pi 3 B+

I updated Batocera to newest v36 and i after install i turn on my Pi and i have Green Screen. i tried reinstalling, connecting with another hdmi cable and to another tv and nothing.

I have the same problem after upgrading to V36. I get a green/purple screen on two separate 4k TV (Philips and TCL) but it seem to work fine on a 1920×1080 monitor. I’ve tried both with RPI3B and RPI2 and with separate HDMI Cables. I had no issues before upgrading from V35.

Tried to change the resolution/refresh rate (es.resolution=max-1920×1080) and ignored edid (hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080 hdmi_group=1) but same issue.

Same issue on a 4K Samsung TV. Funnily the first Batocera Bootscreen is right colored, colors get broken afterwards. No problem on my 1080p Sony TV.

Interesting! so the issue is TV/Display dependent?
I have only tested my Pi3B+ on a 1080p TV/Monitor (Samsung SyncMaster P2470LHD) so far, and i have the green screen.
But i already spoke to the devs, and they are working on a fix, that will hopefully be finished soon.

It’s only the UI (Emulationstation?) that show in green/purple. When starting a game the Batocera logo first show in green/purple then turn back to normal, the games has normal colors. When starting a game the TV display a “Unsupported Video Format” message which never happen in V35.

I am having the same issue as well. I tried a fresh install vs the upgrade, and the results are the same. Green screen.

Mine is kind of the same issue but I am using the Pi4. I get flashes of green on startup and the resolution looks different/blurry. Has a bit of a green tint too it.

Same problem here, I just back to v35 and the issue was gone. Hope will have a fix for v36 soon 🙏

Exactly the same problem here. Would just love to know if the coming fix will be a 37 or a 36.1 type of release. Should i go back to 35 or wait?

danojanko I’d go back to v.35. you dont loose anything by downgrading. except the updated stuff from 36.

Same problem. I have noticed that downgrading to v35 I can no longer access the roms folder by connecting the MicroSD to the Mac, I can only do it online which takes me a long time to transfer the roms. Any way to access the roms folder from the MicroSD?

Hi, same issue:

Samsung TV: starting first image is fine –> second with also version info is green –> homepage green -> select game get video not supported -> manual set of resolution -> works !

LG TV: starting first image is fine –> second with also version info is fine–> homepage get video not supported :-(

Update performed directly from previous version by GUI, I will try to install from scratch.
