Xemu starts then quits on Batocera 36

Any idea how to correct this? All the files are saved on a NAS, not sure if that’s the issue or if it is something else I am missing: Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same setup / issue. I also suspect this is NAS related due to the following lines in the log, but I may be completely off:

When I was trying something, I got an error saying it didn’t have permission to the save file, which is wrong. It was using the same username and password as everything else. I moved the save file off the NAS and to the Batocera computer an it started to properly.

If you don’t mind, where in particular on the Batocera PC did you move it?

Minus roms and bios, everything is stored in the /userdata/ profile. So for the save folder, it is now in /userdata/saves and no longer on my NAS. Also, my batocera is directly installed on a hard drive and not on USB or SD card. Not sure that will make a difference on your end. Hope that helps, if not let me know.

Ah ok. I misunderstood. So you just removed the NAS "sharenetwork"reference for “saves” from batocera-boot.conf? Simple enough. I thought it was a save file just for Xemu! LOL

I’ll have to try that out.

I too have BC on a local NVMe drive. Dual booted with Windows.

Hello,

I don’t have anything in the batocera-boot.conf at the moment that works. I am manually running the command to add the mounting till I get the rest figured out. I have a script that I run that has the following lines:

mount -t cifs -o username=username,password=yourpassword //XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/filename/batocera/roms /userdata/roms
mount -t cifs -o username=username,password=yourpassword //XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/filename/batocera/bios /userdata/bios

Thanks for that script! I believe I am just going to invest in a large storage drive for the ROM and BIOS files. Although I like using my NAS, there is this issue with Xemu (potentially) as well as Sega Model 2 just flat out not supporting Saves on NAS due to a bug in Batocera 32 and later.

I keep my roms and bios on my NAS, and moved my saves to the comp running batocera. So far, everything is working well, well minus emulating the 360, but I think that is a linux over windows issue. Have you tried to upgrade from Batocera 32 to 36?

Thanks for the tip about moving the saves over. I can confirm everything is working beautifully now (by removing the saves “sharenetwork” reference) so saves are now local to the PC and Roms/Bios are on NAS. Xbox is fixed and Sega Model 2 is flawless.

I started my Batocera journey on v35. So I am not familiar with versions before v35.

Guys can you help me out? I just updated to v36, I made my nvm2 as my main batocera bootup, after the update the screen is now black and that’s it. I don’t know how to downgrade or anything. Are you guys able to help out this poor guy with 0 linux knowledge?
