Batocera 35 works fine on my RPi4 when connected to a 4K TV over HDMI - without any changes to config.txt, Emulation station displays in a 1080p resolution screen by default.
However, when moving to Batocera 36, I can see the initial static Batocera splash screen, and then nothing after that, my TV starts to show a “no input signal” display basically.
I’ve tried every combo of changing HDMI options in config.txt
, setting forced modes, hdmi_ignore_edid etc, also setting es.resolution=max-1920x1080
into batocera-boot.conf
but no difference.
Two interesting things though, following Updating to v36c has broken my HDMI out thread, if I changed the display driver from dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d-pi4
to dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d-pi4
, the intro video then displays fine, audio too, but once its finished it’s a black screen again like before and no ES shown.
The second thing and I’ve no idea if this is significant or not, but if I list modes on 35, they are displayed like this -
3840x2160.30.00:3840x2160 30.00 Hz
3840x2160.25.00:3840x2160 25.00 Hz
etc
But in 36 they show up like this -
3840x2160.30000:3840x2160 30000 Hz
4096x2160.30000:4096x2160 30000 Hz
Anyone have any pointers on what might be happening?
