ErikRipl The aim was to run some Kodi plugins that might download some things that I'd rather not get a letter from my ISP about. 😉 I compiled my own version of recalbox with it included, so feel free to ignore this.

ErikRipl I just enabled openvpn through 'make menuconfig'. I believe it was under network utilities. Then I spend the next 20 hours compiling recalbox on the device.
nadenislamarre ok, i note to add this package while it may be usefull for some other people and avoid you to have to recompile for each new version; 20 hours to compile... you've a virtual disk or what ? it is 1/4 normally.
