Wiimote and wii gun batocera 36 recent desktop

Hello, I have a wiimote and numchuck wirh a gun connected to batocera with bluetooth.

Batocera assumes it as a gun and shows the gun icon on top. I press the home button for 3 seconds and the calibration starts but the wiimote wont move as the mouse.

The b button works and the calobration goes to the next step but once again, the wiimote wont move to the desired place. If i just press b and b the target stays at the center of the screen but wont do anything.

I have a usb IR bar from aliexpress i saw it gives better acuracy.

Is there some extra steps to it that I’m missing?

Unplug the nunchuk. It is incompatible in gun mode. Works only in joystick mode.

It still wont work. It keeps one led on the remote but it still wont move the cursos as mouse. it’s stays in the center of the screen (the target) but wont move.

Your wiimote is not detecting the IR led. Either you are too near, or the bar itself is not powered. Verify with your phone camera, you should see the IR light on the bar (purple color).

The bar is Powered because there are lights on each side of it.

But they are red, not purple. Does this matter?

Using the xwiishow 1 command in terminal/SSH will help you know what your wiimote sees. If it sees NO “x” then there are no IR lights detected. And red it suppose to be IR too, but it’s very often purple for this purpose. Check with “xwiishow 1” command in the terminal first and use a candle to make sure the wiimote is working properly.

That did the trick… But it only works if I use that SSH command everytime so the cursos moves, while I have the window open with putty?

can anyone help with this? or is there a workaround? The wiimote only moves if I type the command wity putty, if I dont it just wont do anything.

Since “all I need” to do is enable xwiishow 1 in the ssh client, can someone help me create a local command to when the wiimote is connected it runs the ssh command with xterm or something that enables the xwiishow when the wiimote is connected please? I’ve been reading the wiki but I cant understand how I can achieve this locally.
