The Batocera project has grown exponentially in the last few months. That’s fantastic news, but it also has an unfortunate side-effect. The burden of moderating all the forums, subreddits, Discord forum posts, etc. have become too much for the same-sized small group of volunteers running the project.
So the decision was made, after some serious discussion about alternative solutions, to temporarily lock the forums and the Discord forums. This is explicitly referring to the recently opened #x86-help-and-support-forum and #sbc-help-and-support-forum channels, not any of the other ones.
The Discord forums were the newest addition to all, so the effects of that being locked should be felt the least. However the Batocera forum has been online basically ever since the start of the project, there will still continue to be official documentation that refers to it and community members who have made significant contributions to there. All the forums will remain, just locked, for those that still need to link to and search online for them. These channels may be reactivated in the future if the situation changes.
Please use the r/batocera subreddit for forum-like posts. The other Discord channels will remain open for discussion and support.
