Just to expand on this for anyone with subpar computer skills like me, if you are using Batocera on an internal hard drive, this does involve plugging the hard drive into something like a computer running windows.
I was tripped up a bit trying to find recalbox-boot.conf because I was trying to look through both the network and the file navigator in Batocera first.
