Naomi/Atomiswave on 5.22 not working

The new Batocera update comes with a new RetroArch version bundled, which no longer supports Reicast as a Dreamcast/Naomi/Atomiswave core and instead replaces it with Flycast.
However, the legacy Reicast core seems to be still in the files, even being still configured by default in the es_system.cfg. Despite this, it just cannot start any game for its supported systems (while actual Reicast works fine).
While with Dreamcast games I can just use the new Reicast emulator, for Naomi and Atomiswave I’m forced to use Reicast in Retroarch, which doesn’t work. What should I do to fix this problem?
Yes, I do have all bios in the share/bios folder, and no, I didn’t understand where is the /dc folder

friend I have the same problem with ryzen 3 2200 g. I understand that it is a problem with the controllers since batocera 5.21 works perfectly with naomi

my problems where solved when I put this lines in: batocera.conf
dreamcast.emulator=libretro
dreamcast.autosave=0
dreamcast.core=reicast
dreamcast.rewind=0

working great! save states and compatible with all my computers..

I have had a very similar problem. I remember a few day ago launching Retroarch and trying to download the reicast core and finding it. Upon trying to use it as the default I get the nice little dreamcast console decoration as the background and it starts the bios. After the bios screen every game crashes.

Upon going back into RetroArch I couldn't find the core. Maybe I missed it the second time or imagined it the first time?

Make sure you have the correct Naomi.zip bios in Atomiswave, Naomi and bios folders(Yes all 3).
File names in my folder are as below, and yes I know I have more than I need:

Once you have these copy 'epr-21576g.ic27' to bios folder('\BATOCERA\share\bios') and change it to naomi_boot.bin. If this one does not work use 'epr-21576h.ic27'. These are the two I had the most luck with.

Also if your screen blocks try using 'esc' or 'alt+f4' on your keyboard rather than restarting.

jodiaz1486 You can keep them all but over-copy all of them to naomi.zip. this way you have them all in 1 zip. Some of them will clearly overlap. Make sure you have Naomi.zip in Bios, Naomi and Atomiswave folders as well. Did you try: BZZ 'Once you have these copy 'epr-21576g.ic27' to bios folder('\BATOCERA\share\bios') and change it to naomi_boot.bin. If this one does not work use 'epr-21576h.ic27'. These are the two I had the most luck with.' Someone else earlier said that copying 'naomi_boot.bin' to actual naomi folder helped but I would just put it in naomi.zip. You can always try both. Try to reboot system between tries as well. Might not make much difference but eliminates additional factor ;-)

Sorry I cant be more of help at the moment but I do not feel the best. I will give it a better go once I am better unless someone else gets to the solution ;-)

pillemats Either the bios files you have are not complete and that is why some games do not work. Or some of the roms you have are broken. Try to download the same game from another source....

When you say that they will not run do you mean they go to black screen, dont open at all, open and then close.... ?

Now Naomi works too. I just randomly copied Naomi.zip in both Naomi and AW rom folders, then I copied naomi_boot.bin in the Naomi one.

This is some weird stuff, to be honest

Yarnman The boot file is not required in the system folders just in bios folder. the Naomi is required in system and bios folders to get the games to run.

I appreciate the help, but I do not get anything different from what I've been looking for before. the problem with the naomi persists, when I choose a game and it starts to load the emulator, only the frame of the naomi appears and the screen freezes and I can not close it. I need to close it by turning off the computer

jodiaz1486 I don't think it's a bios error. Have you checked which version you have of OpenGL? I believe that older versions hangs the emulator when trying to start Naomi/atom. I might be wrong but that's the conclusion I got from several threads about this.

What I get to understand these bios are set in the system directory as it is done with the neogeo.zip for neogeo, naomi. zip contains everything about naomi when using cartridge, the naomi2.zip containing everything related to naomi 2, and naomigd.zip is the reference when using GDI discs or at least to detect the rom in any of these features and can be emulated
